Air Nomads

Avatar Aang was an Air Nomad Avatar, and the Avatar before Korra. He is best known for ending the Hundred Year War, and the co-founding of the United Republic of Nations alongside Fire Lord Zuko. During his life, Aang was the sole living airbender until his son, Tenzin, was born. He was the husband of Katara for forty-eight years until his death. Aang's memory lives on through historical markings, such as his statue outside Republic City.

Aang is the father to a waterbender, Kya, a non-bender, Bumi, and an airbender, Tenzin. He is also the grandfather to Tenzin's children, three airbenders: Jinora, Ikki and Meelo, in addition to Tenzin's fourth child, Rohan, though he never got the chance to meet him before his death in 153 AG.
